Description
Provides free legal services to low-income people in Alameda County through monthly legal clinics in family law, bankruptcy, guardianship, housing and more. Legal Access, the pro bono arm of the Alameda County Bar Association, relies on volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and law school graduates to hold over 30 monthly legal clinics. Also runs Start Small,Think Big program which assists under-resourced entrepreneurs in underserved areas through professional volunteers providing legal, financial and marketing services, at no cost.
Services
Volunteer attorneys provide advice and direct representation for a variety of civil legal issues including bankruptcy, family law, debt collection, guardianship and immigration. Educational clinics to empower clients to represent and advocate for themselves.
For all services (except Saturday drop-in) client MUST call first for phone intake interview and appointment. No drop-in services on-site.
Free legal drop-in clinic for family, criminal, housing, consumer, immigration, employment, and other legal issues, first Saturday of the month, 10:30am - 12:00 noon, at the Alameda County Law Library, 125 12th Street, Oakland.
